THE GOOD:  Head-banging music that will take you back to a certain time and place… especially if you lived through it.

Despite the lack of any big names, the able cast hit all the right high notes making for a fun evening.

Set you expectations very low and you won’t be disappointed.

THE BAD:  The book isn’t more than a concept filled with cartoon stereotypes played for laughs.  And not only is it a great disservice to the 70’s and the music of the 70’s but a lack of disrespect.  What should have been a tribute… really isn’t.

Having cast members mingle with the audience is amateur and was not necessary.

It is no surprise that ROCK OF AGES didn’t win the 2009 Tony Award for Best Musical.

THE UGLY:  Not giving this show a hard edge was a big mistake.  You can’t do rock and only take me half way there...

MY SCORE:  ***

(3 OUT OF 5 STARS)
