SYNOPSIS:  A disgraced journalist enlists a computer hacker to help him locate a woman who has been missing for forty years.

RATING:  R 

RUNNING TIME:  158 Mins 

THE GOOD:  Great story… great cast…great soundtrack.

Rooney Mara (THE SOCIAL NETWORK) does a good job as “Lisbeth Salander.” Unfortunately, if you saw the Swedish version, you will know that her performance doesn’t have the dept that original star Noomi Rapace provided.

THE BAD:  The Swedish version was very raw and featured some very graphic rape scenes.  Its impact was so overwhelming that it stayed with you long after you left the movie theater. 

Director David Fincher’s version is too muted to have that kind of impact.  It is good, not great.

THE UGLY:  There was no reason to remake this film.  The original was perfect.
