[INTRODUCING] THIRSTY THURSDAYS WITH MASTERS OF THE RADIO

[INTRODUCING] THIRSTY THURSDAYS WITH MASTERS OF THE RADIO

This week we are raising a glass to our Thirsty Thursday artist Masters of the Radio! They are a British electro group fronted by singer-songwriter and producer Anthony Paul Stevens and Phil Carr. These guys actually reached out to us and were really smart to include pertinent information in their email - site URL, image of the group and an mp3 of one of their songs (take notes, bands). What made it even better was the fact that the song they sent was right up my 80s synth pop alley. My first thoughts upon hearing "The Last Feeling" was that it had a cool modern Depeche Mode sound with a mix of College ft. Electric Youth on their awesome track for "A Real Hero" (from the Drive movie soundtrack). After hearing the song, I immediately checked out the rest of the songs on their SoundCloud page. What can I say, I'm a fan! They do a great job at combining 80s synth pop with a bit of head boppin' dance tunes that you can expect to hear on a record for La Roux or Kylie Minogue. The only sad part is that I wished I had known about these guys sooner! Either way, I'm glad I know about them now. We featured "The Last Feeling" in yesterday's Hump Day Mix and will probably include more songs from Masters of the Radio in future Hump Day Mixes...maybe even on the Summer Jamz 2012 mix! Be sure to check out The Pleasure Age EP below. You won't be disappointed!
